Chief Executive of The Edinburgh Fringe Festival
What inspires you about the Super Power Agency?
I love what the Super Power Agency is about and the difference it is making to young lives. We all have an element of super power in us, it’s a question of being supported and encouraged to find that thing that makes you fly. Edinburgh’s Fringe and Super Power agency exist to encourage imagination, curiosity and creative freedom of expression – if we want to see a diversity of voices, stories and ideas on our stages and screens then unearthing that creativity needs to start in our schools and learning spaces. It’s just brilliant to unite with like-minded folk to support young people in Edinburgh.
What were you like at school?
I worked pretty hard at school, but when I had a paintbrush in my hand or an opportunity to tell a story or performing in a school musical with my mates, that’s when I really flew, and everything else I did was better because of that.
If you could choose a slogan to live by, what would it be?
You can do great things if you don’t care who gets the credit.
A penguin walks through the door right now, wearing a sombrero. why is he
here and what does he say?
I’m here for the Edinburgh Fringe
And I respond Of course you are.
